Athletes’ ability to manage stressors and to adequately regulate their level of activation, responding to environmental demands, are recognized as fundamental skills for achieving an excellent sport performance. Research has largely shown how validated group trainings (e.g. CBSM: cognitive-behavioral stress management) and individual interventions can increase the athletes’ mastery of these specific aspects, allowing them to improve sports performance.
